Today I wanted to showcase the Open Academic Robot Kit which is an open-source project focusing on creating an accessible robotics platform for education and competitions using low-cost components available worldwide.
Their main robot is the EMU- a four-wheeled rover with a camera mounted to an arm for a greater range of view.
OARKit robots have been a basis for entries in competitions such the RoboCupRescue Rapidly Manufactured Robotics Competition, and represent a worldwide collaboration between robot teams to continually improve the base design. With a focus on 3D-printing and low-cost parts, the OARKit provides a competitive platform for robotics competitions and education.
You can learn more about the Rapidly Manufactured Robotics Challenge (RMRC) at the website above too. Let us know what you think!
