Making a Custom ROS Robot Controller!

Hello everyone,

Here today to share yet another awesome robotics project- this time it’s more related to the peripherals of robotics, which I feel are sometimes overlooked in favor of complex hardware and control theory. Once you have an awesome robot running ROS, how do you control it?

TurtleBot3, for example, has options to control using various controllers, keyboard, or joysticks. However, what if you need a custom control scheme for a unique robot? Blogger Adam Purdie on Medium previously documented his progress building a robotic spider as we’d shared in our earlier Project Showcase posts here: Building a Robotic Spider! but his latest post goes over making a custom controller for these unique robots.
